RNIT FRS APP is developed by RNIT Solutions & Services Limited for Attendance tracking.

This Privacy Policy describes our policies and procedures on the data collection, use and disclosure of user information and data protection.

The APP abides by the following principles while handling the information.

We respect the privacy of our users and is committed to protecting any information that we may receive while accessing this application either via web or mobile. We collect the information only in accordance with the Information Technology Act 2000 and other laws which relate to the processing of the information and have taken all necessary and reasonable measures to protect and handle the same in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the terms and conditions of this policy. This Privacy Policy is devised to help the users feel more confident about the privacy and security of the information. We do not automatically capture any specific personal information from the users without their consent.

We are duly bound by the laws, regulations, rules, circulars, notifications etc., as governed by the Govt. of India. This Privacy Policy is applicable to all users of this application.

By accessing this application the users agree to be bound by the terms and conditions of this privacy policy. This privacy policy sets out the details of the information collected, the manner in which information is collected, by whom as well as the purposes for which it is used. However, every effort has been made to provide accurate and reliable information.

We give users meaningful choices over the use of the information, as applicable.

Information Collected & the Manner of Collection

No personal information is being collected / used as part of this solution without user’s consent.

Transactional Information & Permissions

To provide features of the solution we may collect, that too with the user’s prior permission, Information regarding their device's camera for Enrolment and identification as part of fulfilling the responsibilities are performed. No other mobile device feature is accessed or required for usage of the APP.

Data Privacy & Protection

The APP is equipped with standard security features to protect the confidentiality and security of the information.

• Data is encrypted in transit as well as at rest and stored in encrypted format and is used only for the intended purpose.
• All sensitive data is masked.

Facial Templates Data

• Facial template capturing process: Facial templates are collected during a one-time registration process, capturing only 70+ facial coordinates of the user. No other personal information is collected. The facial templates are captured within the app only during the one-time enrollment process and only with the user's consent.
• Usage of facial template data collected: The collected facial template data cannot be used with any external algorithm other than the proprietary facial recognition algorithm within this app. It is used only for verification purposes and not for any other use case. These facial templates are utilized solely for comparing one user’s template against another to verify the correct identity.
• Storage format of facial templates collected: Once captured, facial templates are stored in binary format. An image of the person cannot be reconstructed from the stored binary facial template data.
• Retention period: This data is retained only while the app is in an active state. If the app goes into the background or is suspended, the data will be deleted from the app.
• No sharing of the facial templates: The facial templates are not shared with any third party.

Secure the Data-in-transit

Any information that is transmitted between the mobile APP and server is protected by using SSL against privacy leaks and data theft. This ensures that user data is protected with strict security measures. The communication protocol is encrypted by Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) are cryptographic protocols that ensure data privacy over various communication channels.

Use of Information

We may disclose user information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or legal / administrative process as warranted by the department.

Rights

If any of the users no longer wish to use the APP, such users are free to delete the APP.

Misuse by Non-Targeted Users

The application is meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the device, i.e., mobile, computer and/or any internet connected device.

Policy Revision

This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time.
