We respect the privacy of our users and is committed to protecting any personal information that we may receive while you access this application either via web or mobile. We collect your personal information and personal data in accordance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and other laws which relate to the processing of personal data and have taken all necessary and reasonable measures to protect your personal information and handle the same in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with the terms and conditions of this policy. This Privacy Policy is devised to help you feel more confident about the privacy and security of your personal details. We do not automatically capture any specific personal information from you without your consent.

This page is used to inform users regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information. If you choose to use our service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The Personal Information that we collect is used for providing and improving the Services. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

However, every effort has been made to provide accurate and reliable information. The information in this app, is provided by Axom Sarba Siksha Abhijan Mission (SSA), Assam for the purpose of creating Student Data Management Information System (SDIMS) and for capturing the attendance of its users. User are advised to verify the correctness of the published data here from the concerned authorities. Neither Data Centre nor its allied establishments will be responsible for the accuracy and correctness of the information available in this application. This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time and you will be notified of all such changes here.

1. Information Collected & Manner of Collection

The information present with the SSA department is made available in digital form in the app. While you use the App, the following information is used / collected from / about you and stored securely.

  1. Personal Details: Only Employee Id number / Photo ID proof is collected in the app and facial enrolment is done. Face enrolment is done through templates. The user face template is securely encrypted and stored in a custom file format. The data in the file can neither be viewed nor the file can be used in any other application. The information present with the SSA department will be fed into the web application and will be displayed in the mobile app. No other personal data except, Employee Id / ID proof is asked by the mobile app ( optional)
  2. Transactional Information: While submitting the attendance, Geo-quadrants will be captured and stored. The app does not track your location while not in use nor in background.
  3. User facial template is stored in binary format and not as images. These templates are secured templates and are stored with file encryption. AI identification is done against secure templates which are stored with File-encryption but not using images. Low - resolution Images are captured only for thumbnail purposes.
  4. Permissions: No Data / information is collected from you automatically, without your permission. While using the app, to provide features of the app, we may collect, with your prior permission, Information regarding your location and access to device's camera.
    No other mobile device feature is accessed or required for usage of the app.

2. Data Security

The App is equipped with standard security features to protect the confidentiality and security of your information. Data is encrypted in transit as well as rest.

  1. All sensitive Data is masked.
  2. Data is Encrypted and Stored.
  3. No Data / information is collected from you automatically, without your permission.
  4. The data is protected. Role based access is provided (ACLS) and is restricted to the users based on roles.
  5. Secure the Data-in-transit: All sensitive and non-sensitive information that is transmitted between the mobile app and server is protected against privacy leaks and data theft by using SSL. This ensures that user data is protected with strict security measures. The communication protocol is encrypted by Transport Layer Security (TLS). TLS and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) are cryptographic protocols that ensure data privacy over various communication channels.
  6. The user face template is securely encrypted and stored in a custom file format. The data in the file can neither be viewed nor the file can be used in any other application.
    3. Use of Information
  1. The purpose of information collected by the app, is for face enrolment and attendance capturing only.
  2. We may disclose user information as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or legal / administrative process as warranted.
  3. We do not sell the data, nor disclose it to any unauthorised users. It is only used for the purpose of its use.
  4. This information /data is retained by SSA as per its requirement.

4. Rights

  1. As a user of the app , you have the right to access your profile
  2. You cannot manage the communications that you receive from us or how you receive them. If you no longer wish to use the App you are free to delete the App. Please note that deleting the App will delete all the information collected and stored on your phone.

5. Disclosures and Transfers

  1. Personal data is protected and will not be shared to any third party, without your consent. It will only be used of the purpose it is collected. You will have the option to withdraw the consent for further transactions.
  2. By law or to protect rights
    If we believe the release of information about you is necessary to respond to legal process, to investigate or remedy potential violations of our policies, or to protect the rights, property, and safety of others, we may share your information as permitted or required by any applicable law, rule, or regulation. This includes when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;

By using the App, you are consenting to processing of your information as set forth in this privacy policy. By using the application, you are consenting to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy now and as amended by us.

7. Misuse by Non-Targeted Users:

The application is meant for use by the targeted audience only. Misuse by non-targeted users should be prevented by owner of the device, i.e., mobile, computer and/or any internet connected device.

This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time, and you will be notified of all such changes.

9. Push Notifications /Alerts

We may request to send you push notifications/ alerts regarding your account or the updates. If you wish to opt-out from receiving these types of communications, you may turn them off in your device’s settings.
